TWGT SHAFTS
Series 9 RT Rapid Taper Graphite Shafts A radical high taper, long parallel section profile designed by Robin Arthur, one of the leading composite shaft engineers in the history of graphite shaft design technology. Higher balance point and butt heavy design, created by the rapid taper change from 0.600" butt section to 0.340" tip section located just below the grip - higher balance point and heavy butt section delivers a mid low flight with more dispersion control for average to better ball strikers. Unique change of wall thickness in the long parallel section ensures a solid feel with no sense of increased flexibility. 83-85g raw weight ideal for the slightly stronger golfer with average to fast tempo. Finished in a two color scheme with deep claret red on the butt section and deep charcoal grey metallic on the long tip section.
Series 7 B2P Shafts A High Balance Point, butt-heavier design, created in separate driver and fairway shafts, for the golfer with a strong to average transition + midway to slightly later release to offer a penetrating trajectory for a lower angle of descent. Separately designed driver and fairway wood shafts to offer a slightly heavier weight in the fairway wood shaft over the driver shaft, a feature that enhances the MOI matching of the woods and is preferred by many golfers with a faster tempo and slightly stronger transition. Higher balance point and butt heavy design allows the 7-B2P to "play heavier" than it is for stronger golfers, but still allows the total weight to be lower for enhancing swing speed. Butt heavier design offsets the slightly softer butt section design to allow the 7-B2P to match with golfers who have a stronger transition with faster tempo and not feel "boardy".

730 CL Ultralight Graphite Shaft Specifically designed for the golfer with 80mph driver / 60mph 5-iron swing speed or lower. Ultralight 60g graphite wood, 70g hybrid iron and 80g wedge shafts. Butt soft and Tip soft bend profile design for the slow swinging golfer with smooth to average transition, smooth to medium tempo, and early to mid-way wrist-cock release – the swing possessed by 90% of all slower swing speed players. A/L combination flex construction to fit slower swinging men or average to slower swinging lady golfers. The 0.335" tip hybrid iron design is a TWGT innovation, proven to dramatically increase launch angle with iron lofted clubheads. 0.370" tip wedge shaft ideal for control – higher lofts of the wedges eliminate need for more tip flexibility. Finished in a deep claret red gloss metallic finish with silver and black highlights to perfectly complement the 730CL clubheads.

ZT Series Zone Technology The flex stiffness of the Zone Technology shafts is engineered in the tip, center and butt sections of the shaft performing together for specific bending profile properties to truly change the flight of the ball for individual golfers. The High flight version specifically suits players who need to hit the ball higher to keep it in the air so it will carry farther.
The Mid/Low flight version is a particularly good choice for the golfer who already hits the ball high enough but wants to lower the flight curve for more control. ZT Series shafts are finished in a deep metallic grey gloss with black and silver highlights to match any wood head finish and they come at a very affordable price.
INTERFLEXX GRAPHITE - Flex and Flight Control INTERFLEXX shafts by TWGT mark a radical breakthrough in shaft design engineered by the combined talents of Tom Wishon and Robin Arthur, director of composite engineering for Royal Precision. By wrapping an all-new proprietary aluminum-coated Hexcel composite material around specific locations in the shaft, the InterFlexx incorporates precise bending points to create two shaft models with completely different flight patterns. High Flight shafts utilize two Hexcel areas to control the shaft's 'unloading' and increase launch angle and trajectory. Mid/Low Flight shafts use a single, longer layer of composite in the shaft's lower center section to stiffen the entire lower part of the shaft, thus delivering a more penetrating trajectory. Hexcel composite flight control layers are visible on the underside of the shaft through attractive InterFlexx 'X' windows, and the shafts can be installed with the logo facing up or down for the same performance, but offering two different looks.
GI 335 for Long Irons Gi-335 graphite shafts bring true shaft innovation to low-lofted irons for performance and maximum carry. These iron shafts are designed with the same exact butt stiffness as conventional iron shaft flexes, but with a 0.335" parallel tip section to exhibit more than twice as much shaft unloading as conventional iron shafts of the same flex! GI-335 iron shafts are ideal on any mid- to long iron for golfers who need to increase launch angle and trajectory in the lower-lofted irons. Conventional iron shafts for short irons and wedges can then be blended into the set because the GI-335 shaft is designed with the same butt stiffness as conventional iron shafts. WISHON GI-335 graphite shafts are uniquely designed to match with the new TWGT 321Li Hybrid long iron heads with a 0.335" hosel bore.
Note: 'forceful/fast/late' in swing type above is with additional tipping of 1/2"
Series 5SL Graphite Series 5-SL is a super light graphite shaft design for average player to the more accomplished player with a more aggressive move through the ball. In comparison to the bend profiles of the Grafalloy ProLite 35, the UST Proforce 65 and the TWGT InterFlexx High Flight, the Series 5-SL delivers a little less stiffness feel in the overall sensation of flex, but remains firm through impact to deliver a more penetrating trajectory with slightly more control from the tip half of the shaft. This bending profile makes the Series 5-SL graphite an ideal shaft match for oversize driver heads. With the Series 5- SL golfers can expect the clubface to remain square on the downswing without needing to opt for a driver with a more closed face angle. A special version of the LV Technology L flex wood shaft is available in the Series 5-SL artwork and finish with NO FLEX printed on the shaft – specifically for senior men who need an L or soft A flex wood shaft but do not want an L- or A- flex on the shaft.

Series 7 Graphite Series 7-FL-45 is a sub 50 gram Feather Light shaft designed for slower, smooth swing speeds. Available in A- and AA- flexes, it delivers the lightest total weight possible with a higher launch angle profile. Series 7-SUL-55 has an amazingly
solid and stronger bend profile design for
R- and S- flex players with average-to-stronger
swings who desire a Super-UltraLight total
weight for the highest swing speed assistance
from a shaft.

Series 5 Steel Many clubmakers selected the Series 5 Steel shafts for use in their custom clubmaking in 2003 and were incredibly pleased with their performance and feel. Series 5 Steel iron shafts are designed with different Bend Profile characteristics for each separate flex. With a 114g shaft weight TWGT believes the player can achieve the ideal smooth tempo for better iron play but still be able to push to a stronger move into the ball when necessary without losing control of the irons. New for 2004 are the matching Series 5 Steel shafts for woods players who prefer the feel of steel in the woods, or prefer the higher total weight that comes with steel shafts. The TWGT special wedge shafts have a 3.5" difference in the parallel tip section, plus a unique 'short step-down' just above the tip section which controls the all flight. The Knock Down wedge shaft is specifically designed for pitching wedges and gap (AW) wedges. The High Flight version is a great match with any sand wedge or lob wedge when a high soft landing or a finesse shot is required.

* Note on fitting recommendations: Remember, the primary function of the shaft is to control the total weight of the club and to modify or enhance the launch angle of the shot. What is critical in accurate shaft fitting is for all clubmakers to take the time to analyze the three significant shaft fitting movements. The recommendations listed above are offered as just that, recommendations. back to product |
